The Ancient Bristlecone Forest in California is home to the oldest trees in the world, some of them older than 4.000 years! You can find this forest at 3.400 meters (11,000 feet) in the White Mountains near Bishop, Ca.
The Bristlecone Pine trees grow with fantastic shapes, their branches reach out in every direction, twisting towards the sky and even crawling on the ground. Being surrounded by these animal-like forms felt like being in the middle of an ancient fable. Or maybe it was the lack of oxygen at that altitude. I wanted to share this experience with everyone, and thankfully I had brought my camera with me.
The Upper Newport Bay Natural Reserve is home to around 200 species of birds, including four different especies of hummingbirds.
These are fascinating little gems. A hummingbird’s brain is the largest of any bird’s in proportion, making up a 4.2% of its weight. In comparison, our brains represent 2% of our body weight.
These tiny birds can remember every flower they’ve ever visited, they’re born knowing their migration routes from Mexico to Alaska, and even recognize those humans who refill their feeders -and those who frequently snap photos of them.
Nashville hosts 16.1 million visitors on a yearly basis. This turns Broadway St into a must-see: colorful Honky Tonk bars and very interesting people.
Starry skies, clean air, alpine lakes, bright colors, animal encounters, barbecuing in the woods… you know, social distancing.
